DFCC Bank’s Vice President, Head of Marketing and Sustainability, Nilmini Gunaratne was amongst the top women leaders and iconic businesswomen to be featured in the “Women of Steel” special edition of Global CEO Magazine. The magazine was launched at “Tea with the Cream of Businesswomen”, – a special high tea event organised by Global CEO Magazine, on the 20th of March 2024, coinciding with the month of International Women’s Day. The event celebrated the exceptional achievements of Sri Lanka’s inspiring businesswomen and their unique contributions to society and the economy. Ms. Gunaratne, in her insightful discussion, shared practical advice for women in the workplace. She advised aspiring career women to “Recognise and embrace the unique challenges of balancing professional ambitions and responsibilities at home. This is not just a theory, but a practical approach to life. Strike a harmonious balance among these facets of life. Cultivate patience, understanding, and a willingness to view situations from different perspectives” while emphasising the need for “Learning to compartmentalise and maintain a healthy work-life balance for long-term success and fulfilment.”
