Yes, the account will be in the name of the child.

No, this account cannot be a joint account.
What is the minimum deposit required to open a DFCC Junior Account?
The minimum deposit to open the account is LKR 2,000.
What is the maximum tiered-rewards slab available under the DFCC Junior scheme?
The maximum slab is Rs. 5,000,000. Balances over that will enjoy additional interest rate.
What rewards are available for milestone events?
Cash rewards are provided for Grade 5 scholarships, G.C.E O/L examinations, and 18th birthdays.
What are the eligibility criteria for Grade 5 Scholarship and G.C.E O/L rewards?
- Grade 5 Scholarship: 150 marks minimum and a Minimum balance of LKR 50,000 for 12 Calander months to the exam.
- G.C.E O/L: 8 As or more and a Minimum balance of LKR 50,000 for 12 Calander months to the exam.
- Must be claimed within 3 months.
What are the eligibility criteria for the 18th Birthday reward?
The account must maintain a minimum balance of LKR 50,000 for 36 Calander months and must be claimed within 3 months of the 18th birthday.

Terms and Conditions

The maximum age of eligibility for the gift scheme will be 15 years of age.
Accounts opened only in Sri Lankan Rupees.
Account to be opened by parent or guardian Withdrawals are not permitted.
Non-residents/ non-nationals not permitted to open accounts.
No withdrawals until the child completes 18 years.
