Women entrepreneurs play a vital role in Sri Lanka’s economic progress yet often face financial and social barriers. The DFCC ALOKA Pragathi Loan is designed to support women-led SMEs and MSMEs by offering easy access to funding, flexible repayment options, and concessionary interest rates under selected schemes. Beyond financing, the loan provides capacity building through advisory services, training, and mentorship helping women-owned businesses start, grow, and scale sustainably.

Women-led businesses (registered or unregistered) with at least 51% ownership by women, or businesses that meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Minimum 20% ownership by women 

  • A woman is the CEO (most senior manager) or COO (second most senior manager) 

  • At least 30% of board members are women (where a board exists) 

  • Business existence of over 12 months
