DFCC Bank, the premier commercial Bank in Sri Lanka, was recently awarded as having the ‘Best Digital Wallet Sri Lanka’ at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2021, organized by the Global Banking & Finance Review magazine, attesting to its continued status as the Bank for Everyone.

The Bank received the award for its revolutionary ‘Virtual Wallet’. This accolade highlights the international recognition placed on the Bank’s continuous efforts to create inclusive value for all stakeholders, while building and securing a resilient Sri Lanka. The awards also reflect the Bank’s success in developing innovative, impactful services such as the Wallet, that have excelled in creating significant economic and social value for its customers and the general public.

The DFCC Virtual wallet holds the accolade as the first mobile wallet launched in Sri Lanka in 2015.. It provides customers with the functionality of performing real-time fund transfers between their own accounts and other bank accounts, or for settling other bank credit cards. It is heavily multi-functional in all three languages and enables the settling of utility bills and insurance payments, institutional payments as well, acting as a safe, convenient solution for customers, negating the obstacles in place due to the ongoing pandemic. The wallet was recently revamped to meet ever-evolving customers needs, with a new interface added and over 25 new features packed in, from the ability to check bank balances, interest rates, maturity dates of fixed deposits and many more. Customers were also given the ability to add their DFCC credit cards (primary and supplementary) onto their wallets to view all relevant information including transactions and statements for the last 3 months. Existing DFCC Bank customers can download the app and self-onboard using their debit cards or call the hotline and activate their wallet. Further the wallet also added 40 new billers through collaboration with m-cash and promoted ecommerce merchant payments . DFCC Wallet is the online hybrid mobile banking platform in the market with a simple user interface. During the year adoption and usage has grown significantly.
