Before initiating any payments to Sri Lanka Customs and the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), we kindly request your attention to the essential fields outlined below. It is imperative to ensure accurate and complete information before proceeding with any payment transactions:


EPF – PZNCD (Zone Code), PEMNO (Employer number), PCNPR (Contribution period), PSQNO (Submission number)


SL customs – Cusdec Reference Number, Office Code, Year, Serial, Registration Number, Company Code


How to make payments to government institutions via Online Banking


  • Log in to our Online Banking profile.
  • Click on the “Payments Icon”
  • Go to the “Government Payments Section.”
  • Choose the “from/debit account” and choose the type of payment type (SL Customs, IRD or EPF)
  • Key in the OTP received via SMS or Email.
  • Upon OTP verification, You will be redirected to the government portal based on the payment type.

If you are making a payment to IRD


  • Once you verify your OTP, you will be redirected to the comment portal to proceed with your tax payment
  • Once you type in the TIN – You need to choose the tax type
  • Select the assessment type
  • Choose the tax payable period/calendar year
  • Click on submit to proceed

  • Please note – *Make sure to choose the correct details; if you cannot proceed further-You can contact the IRD hotline Ext 1944. If you have registered for online services, your TIN will be linked to the tax payable type.

  • Upon making the payment

    – You will be directed to another page. You will receive an SMS and email confirming your relevant tax payment if you register with the IRD online services. Once the payment is successful, the Bank will generate a debit SMS alert to your registered mobile number for alert services. You can also callthe IRD hotline number 1944 for further clarification.

  • Upon making the payment, return to the Online Banking tab and click proceed. You will receive a message that the transaction initiation is successful. Check the payment status in the transaction history section.
  • How to download the receipt: After clicking the “Transaction History Section”, please click on the relevant transaction to download the receipt. Once you click “Download Receipt”, you will be redirected to download your receipt page in the LPOPP interface of the IRD.

If you are making a payment to EPF


  • Upon selecting “EPF” as the payment type and keying in the OTP, you will be directed to the government portal.
  • Fill in the required information and click on submit.
  • Review the details and proceed to pay.
  • Post successful transaction submission on the relevant platform page; you will receive a message stating, “Transaction pending for authorisation, please contact the bank”.
  • Please click “Transaction History” to confirm the payment and generate the receipt. Then select the transaction to generate the receipt by clicking “Download Receipt”.


If you are making a payment to SL Customs


  • Upon selecting “SL Customs” as the payment type and keying in the OTP, you will be directed to the government portal.
  • Fill in the required information (Cusdec Reference Number, Office Code, Year, Serial, Registration Number, Company Code ) and the amount to be paid.
  • Review the details and proceed to pay.
  • Post successful transaction submission on the relevant platform page; you will receive a message stating, “Transaction pending for authorisation, please contact the bank”.
  • Please click “Transaction History” to confirm the payment and generate the receipt. Then select the transaction to generate the receipt by clicking “Download Receipt”.


If you are making a payment to other government payments via gov pay service


  • Upon logging into Online banking you need to select the “payments” icon
  • Go to the government payments section and select other government payments
  • Once selected key in the relevant information
  • Key in the OTP received via SMS or Email
  • Upon OTP verification, You will be redirected to the government portal based on the payment type
  • Then fill in the relevant information and choose the relevant payment type (Ie; Gampaha Municipal Council, Rambukkana Pradeshiya Sabhawa etc.)

    Yes, there is a charge of Rs. 50/= per transaction

  2. What should I do if Iencounter any issues or barriers when making payments to the IRD?
    You can contact the IRD hotline Ext 1944 if you have any clarification on your taxes or payments

  3. How do I download the receipt for the payments ?
    You can go to the transaction history and click on the relevant transaction. After clicking the “Transaction History Section”, please click on the applicable transaction to download the receipt. Once you click download receipt, you will then be redirected to download your receipt.
