Emergency Relief Programme in the Southern Region
DFCC Bank substantially supported customers, individuals and communities severely impacted by the floods in Akuressa/Athuraliya and Matara during September and October 2023. In collaboration with the Athuraliya Divisional Secretariat, the bank identified over 200 families directly affected by the floods in Balakawala, Panadugama, Haupe, Thibbotuwawa, Thibbotuwawa North, and also extended assistance to 65 affected customers. The bank distributed dry ration packs to the identified beneficiaries as part of the relief efforts. DFCC officials conducted this distribution process under the supervision of the Divisional Secretariat and Grama Niladhari officials in each respective area. This initiative aimed to alleviate the immediate challenges faced by the affected families and underscored DFCC Bank’s commitment to community well-being in times of crisis.
